For several months, I have collected from military wives the names of churches that have supported their military families. Below are the churches to which they gave their stamps of approval, spanning from Florida to Alaska. Below you will find the list of those churches, along with their locations and Web sites where available. Leave comments to share other churches not already on the list- let’s grow it! (Disclaimer: This is simply a list of churches that others have recommended as being supportive to the military family. I have not researched their doctrines and statements of faith, so I leave that up to you.)

For those at Tyndall AFB, NorthStarPC.org!!! They are an amazing church! Plus it’s years down the road now but since they podcast and stream live they are my go to church while we move or I can’t make it locally.

We believe in the absolute authority of the Holy Scriptures. We believe the original manuscripts were given by inspiration of God and were without error. We believe the God who gave His word to man has taken upon Himself the responsibility for its preservation (Psalms 12:6-7). Faith Baptist Church in Prince George VA near Ft Lee is a good military church as well. We have a lot of retired military and active military from all branches. Also we have John Kreynus who is a mlitary missionary. Every Sun he picks up soldiers on Ft Lee that are in the barracks, AIT, any thing of that sort and drives them to church, then out to lunch, then back to Ft Lee. He helps with all sorts of things that they need like rides to here and there as well.
My hubby found John K and the church back when he joined the Army in 1993 and through a lot of moves they have remained friends and in contact. Every time we PCS to VA we end up back at Faith Baptist.

First Baptist Church of Navarre, Florida has a very active military ministry. We have a large military community serving Hurlburt and Eglin AFB members in the Navarre area. The church has outreach programs for the deployed military member as well as for the families at home. This year we have had small group Bible studies on Sunday mornings specifically for the military, such as Making Your Marriage Deployment Ready, Defending the Military Marriage, Defending the Military Family and Psalm 91. We have also begun military wives studies at the home of one of our members.
Westside Waynesville Baptist Church is a mostly military church. They offer support to families and make you feel at home. When we left ELBC in Leesville, we thought we would never find a church as supportive or as nice as ELBC. We looked around very shortly and found WBC. From their Youth pastor and programs for kids to the Pastors,AWANA, MOPS groups and Bible studies, there is never a boring moment here. The music is wonderful and the sermons amazing! I highly reccomend this church be added to the list!

Silverdale Lutheran Church in Silverdale, WA is GREAT! IA support group that sends care packages overseas, childcare at every event/function, great community!

First Presbyterian Church in Norfolk, VA is a wonderful church that supports their members who are affiliated with military both while they are in the area and well after they leave. I am happy and blessed to be able to call it my church home and have had a very difficult time finding anything that even begins to compare to it elsewhere.

In Utah, Kaysville Bible Church is relatively small but wonderful. Pastor Steve Mix & the whole congregation is very pro-military & there are numerous military families. They have AWANA & youth group, Bible studies, etc. Their website is: http://www.kaysvillebible.org.

By Scott AFB, in Illinois, there is a wonderful family oriented church which supports the military and military families. Outstanding Biblical teaching, traditional hymns are sung and family worship is encouraged. Nursery is available for babies and young children, Sunday School for both children and adults, the minister is a former military member himself. it is phenominal! It has everything for families from birth to elderly. Its a non-denominational church. The pastor is awesome, they have been growing tremendously, they are starting to build a school for the childrens ministry.

Cornerstone Baptist Church in Topsham, Maine was started 11 years ago by a Navy officer who went reserve from active in order to attend seminary. After ten years he moved on and our new pastor, while not military, is very supportive. The navy base in the next town was just closed due to the 2005 BRAC rounds, but there are still sailors in another nearby town due to its Naval ship building factory. There are several retired, reservists and national guard members in attendance. Immanuel Lutheran Church, LCMS, in Redondo Beach, CA is a great place to belong military or not. They have been so wonder with my husband deployed. We had barely unpacked when he got his orders to be gone in 6 weeks, so we were new to the church and they all rallied about us and have taken wonderful care of my family. Couldn’t ask for more. There are presently two families there who have deployed members. They are so loving and supportive. I hope you will add them to your list. They aren’t big, but their heart sure is!

Las Flores Church of the Nazarene in Carlsbad, CA (Camp Pendleton) is AMAZINGLY supportive of their military. I would venture to guess half of the congregation is military affiliated, at least. The website: http://lasfloreschurch.com/
Green Acres Baptist Church needs to be added in Tyler, TX. They have a military outreach team, send out care packages, do Rapid Deployment Kids for deploying troops (from Campus Crusade), host Yellow Ribbons, offer their facilities for use, offer their counseling services. They have an annual July 4th celebration and outreach for military members and veterans. When our local Guard unit deployed, they provided a soloist for the National Anthem, someone for the invocation and benediction and a great deal of other help for our ceremony.
Seaport Community Church in Groton CT is an amazing military friendly church!
Faith Temple Church in Killeen, TX (Ft Hood area) is a non-denominational church of unconditional & non-judgmental love, where our Pastoral staff walk the talk with great sincere compassion & integrity. We have many ministries even from the infants up to college age young adults. That’s in addition to the whole congregation. We have many different groups for many different needs to include our “Prime Timers” and military spouses active or contractors. This is a church that will not only cause you to want to grow spiritually but also will help you grow spiritually. A church with a heart for the people NOT for itself which is why it is fast growing… People are noticing God’s blessing and presence here! Having been in the community for over 20 years but only re-planted here for the last 4 years, I can honestly say, you’ll definitely want to check this one out.
High Point Baptist Church in Vilseck, Germany is an amazing military support church. It is great to have a supportive, encouraging English-speaking church in a foreign duty station!

This church is military friendly, which I have experienced first hand. We moved here and my husband deployed a few months later, I knew no one! I was embraced the very first time I went with a friend. I continued to go by myself during the deployment and when my husband returned they welcomed him like they had known him for years. Lots of kids in children’s church and more are always welcomed!
