For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist . . .
Ephesians 6:12-14

It’s certainly no secret that while our husbands may be fighting flesh and blood, the wives at home fight daily battles against the unseen, from apathy to despair, complacency to bitterness, discourament to depression. Though we can spar with these invisible foes in the privacy of our own minds and hearts, the consequences of victory or defeat in will be evident in our lives.

The first piece of the armor of God we are to put on is the belt of truth: God’s Word (Eph. 6:14). Whatever you may be dealing with right now, I hope you will find a biblical truth to stand on in one or more of the lists of Bible verses below. I suggest that you print your favorite verses out and post them somewhere you’ll see them often. Try to memorize one or two to start with, so God’s Word will be written on your heart.
