I’m the author of Faith Deployed: Daily Encouragement for Military Wives (Moody Publishers 2008), which I wrote with the help of 14 other Christian military wives from every branch of service. The sequel, Faith Deployed…Again: More Daily Encouragement for Military Wives, was published by Moody in 2011.

3. For civilians ministering to military wives, read it in order to see the kinds of challenges military wives face.

• Give the book to military wives in a “reverse care package” on any ordinary day, or during holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, birthdays, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. A husband’s absence is felt most keenly during family-oriented holidays.
